Post-quantum MACsec in Ethernet Networks

چکیده
The demand on MACsec in Ethernet is increasing substantially since fits well for industrial applications which require strong security as efficiency. To provide a long-term security, the protocol should be resistant to future attacks including quantum attacks. In this paper, analysed under attack scenario. achieve 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithms defined mandate use 256-bit keys. On other hand, classical public-key cryptosystems MKA are not secure at all against so that they need replaced by post-quantum crypto schemes world. We propose an authenticated key establishment suitable MACsec. proposed used hybrid mode, ephemeral exchange, and end-to-end encryption. verified experiments can deployed existing MACsec-enabled network.

Preemption and MACsec replay protection Preemption and MACsec replay protection
Mick Seaman Use of the proposed IEEE 802.3 Ethernet frame preemption capability could result in frame reordering. Without a change in the MACsec specification (IEEE Std 802.1AE) or in the way it is used it would not be possible to use MACsec to provide strict replay protection. This note has been revised to detail the use of multiple SCs1 per port, following the 802.1 Security Task Group discus...
متن کاملMetro Ethernet Networks
Automatic discovery of physical topology plays a crucial role in enhancing the manageability of modern metro Ethernet networks. Despite the importance of the problem, earlier research and commercial network management tools have typically concentrated on either discovering logical topology, or proprietary solutions targeting specific product families. Recent works have demonstrated that network...
متن کاملEnabling next Generation Ethernet Access with Ethernet Passive Optical Networks
This article describes Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (EPONs), an emerging local subscriber access architecture that combines low cost point-to-multipoint fiber infrastructure with Ethernet. EPONs are designed to carry Ethernet frames at standard Ethernet rates. EPONs use a single trunk fiber that extends from a central office to a passive optical splitter, which then fans out to multiple op...
متن کاملSupporting Ethernet in optical-burst-switched networks
The reemergence of metropolitan area networks (MANs) is being stimulated by the continued growth of the Internet. Here we introduce the likely role that optical burst switching (OBS) will play in the development of 10-Gbit Ethernet (10GbE) metropolitan networks. Although the synchronous optical network (SONET) is being proposed to provide wide-area connectivity for 10GbE MANs, its synchronous t...
متن کاملTime Synchronization in Automotive Ethernet Networks
There are many different time-critical Ethernet applications in the automobile. They include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with cameras and (radar) sensors, real-time audio and video streams, and backbones for synchronizing various physical domains (Figure 1). Another use case is on-board data logging. Moreover, devices networked via Ethernet must naturally also be synchronized with...
